I currently live in Vietnam and in January, I'm coming back to the UK to visit my parents. I'd like to buy something from a South Korean company, but ideally, I'd like to avoid paying the full import duty and VAT on something that I'm going to be taking out of the UK within two weeks. I know its possible to claim back VAT or certain purchases made in the UK if you're not a resident (although annoyingly, not online purchases), but is it possible to do so in my situation?
Also, the obvious solution would be to have it sent into Vietnam, and I wouldn't object to paying tax here, but I simply don't trust the customs officials enough to have anything expensive sent here.
