Tax return for newly UK Resident landlord

Would I be correct in saying that someone who became resident of UK in December 2012 only needs to fill in rental details for December 2012 - April 2013 in the foreign income section of their tax return?

I submitted a return and used the rental income received during the period in which I was actually UK resident and omitted the income from before I arrived here.

I also apportioned the expenses accordingly where applicable, i.e. only repair expenses incurred during this period were listed, the annual insurance premium was apportioned according the the length of time I was UK resident and the Irish tax already paid, which I can claim against my UK tax bill due to the double taxation treaty, was apportioned as well.

Basically, it all looks above board to me but I'm wondering if revenue have some weird rules regarding this.
