My husband retired at the end of July. He is on a works pension.
Today we received a notice of coding of D0 to be used against this source. Why?
I can understand a D code against second and subsidiary sources but not against the main source (which should have his full personal allowances).
What has happened to the service at HMRC? You used to be able to talk to sensible people, properly trained and who actually understood the service they were administering.
Does anyone know the method of making a complaint? Ringing up is no good, letters are ignored -- would our MP be of help? We can't afford 40% of our income being taken in tax, whilst dealing with what appears to be a clueless department.:mad:
