As a low earning Self Employed new dad am I elegible for NI credits?

I suspect the answer is no, but I'm confused by what I've read so far.

I am a self employed new dad, earning very little (less than 1K per year). I am at home with my wife looking after our young baby. She is on a very generous maternity package which is supporting us.

Even though I have low earnings which could exempt me, I have decieded to continue to pay all my Class 2 NICs to keep up my contribution record.

Someone recently mentioned to me that parents can get their NI paid for them in the form of NI credits if they are at home bringing up their child.

The HMRC website says:
If you’re a parent getting Child Benefit for a child under 12 - You get Class 3 NI credits automatically.

The child benefit we recieve is in my wife's name, but goes into our jount account.

So would I qualify to have my NI contributions paid by class 3 credits rather than me paying them myself via class 2 contributions?

Or would the child benefit have to be in my name (or joint names)? Or would I have to be unemployed to recieve the credits?

Thanks for any advice.
