Good morning and thanks to anyone that can help here. I am 64 (65 in August 2015) I am self employed but earn very little ... (tax year 'til Apr 2014 about £2K) and have some personal pension income (£6K) however looking well ahead I have found some sources of income so come tax return 2016 adding up my personal and state pensions and income from my freelance work I could be getting about £15K somewhat above the tax allowance.
To help reduce my tax liability I guess I can claim some 'purchases' for stuff used for my design business and maybe a little for my home 'office', percentage of petrol and running costs of car and anything else ? ... is there a 'basic' allowance amount for this sort of thing ? I really don't want to go to an accountant and pay £200.00 for him to save me £200.00.
Thanks for any help for this.
Roger
